About SwimExcell Esher
Swimexcell Esher SC was founded in August 2006 as the natural progression to SWIMSTARS the Learn – to - Swim School. It was set up to develop talent, to improve skills already learned, to teach new skills, to gain stamina, to improve stroke technique all of which lead swimmers to competition level. The mission statement of the club is
'Stroke Efficiency for Easy Swimming'
Swimexcell Esher SC was affiliated to the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) in November 2007. As a young dynamic club it intends to grow over the coming years, and its philosophy is to develop the swimmer as an individual – using an holistic approach . Accordingly the club’s strength lies in making every swimmer the best they can be and not necessarily by being the biggest club locally.
In September 2010 the Club received full accreditation in Teaching and Skill Development. SWIM21 Accreditation is the ASA’s 'quality mark'. It is about creating the best possible swimming experience for all and raising the quality of swimming provision across all areas. It is not just a badge of honour; SWIM21 is a development tool that allows swimmers, teachers, coaches and those responsible for developing programmes to continually improve.
Swimexcell competes in approximately 10 Open Meets annually plus the county championships held in February/March. The Regional Championships held in May/June and the Nationals in July. As a competitive club swimmers learn how to race as well as learning the protocols of training. Swimexcell is also developing a good social programme too, after all its about being the best and to be the best you need to take it seriously including having serious FUN!
